DNV (historically Det Norske Veritas) is known first in maritime and energy, and more broadly as a business-assurance registrar. Manufacturing, healthcare, and professional-services teams shortlist DNV when they want a technically oriented audit style and a CB that is used to asset-intensive operations.

Fit on the quality → security → AI path

DNV’s published service pages cover ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO/IEC 27001. The group has also publicly offered ISO/IEC 42001 certification and referenced RvA accreditation for AIMS. That makes DNV a reasonable compare-set member for buyers who expect to add AI-management certification after 27001 — provided the live scope still includes 42001 in your region.

As with other global groups, the auditor who knows your welding procedure or your clinical process may not be the auditor who reviews an AI management system. Ask how DNV staffs mixed-standard programs.

  • Competence for your sector codes, not only generic QMS experience.
  • Whether 27001 and 42001 can share evidence and audit days.
  • Transfer process if you are leaving a smaller registrar.
