LRQA

Independent assurance group formerly known as Lloyd's Register Quality Assurance.

LRQA is the assurance business long associated with Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance. It operates as an independent certification and advisory group. Many quality managers still recognize the older LRQA / Lloyd’s Register names on existing certificates.

Why it appears here

LRQA is a mainstream option for ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO/IEC 27001, with a buyer base that includes manufacturing and food as well as technology and professional services. The firm has also publicly announced UKAS accreditation for ISO/IEC 42001, which puts it on a reasonable first list for organizations that want a UKAS-marked AIMS certificate.

Independence from the historical Lloyd’s Register marine classification story is worth a one-line check in procurement: you are contracting LRQA the CB, not a ship-classification society.

RFQ focus

  • UKAS versus other accreditation marks, if your customers specify one.
  • Transfer of existing LR or LRQA certificates.
  • Combined 27001 / 42001 audit design.
  • Sector competence for your manufacturing processes or professional-services scope.

As always, confirm the live schedule rather than relying on a press release date.
