NQA

UK-rooted management-system certification body with a UKAS-accredited UK company and an ANAB-accredited U.S. company in Acton, Massachusetts.

NQA is a management-system certification body that mid-market manufacturers meet under two legal names. Public NQA pages date the business to 1988 in the United Kingdom and say that NQA is part of Kiwa. The UKAS schedule names NQA Certification Ltd, trading as NQA Certification and KIWA, with its head office at Warwick House, Houghton Hall Park, Houghton Regis, Dunstable. Companies House lists NQA Certification Limited as active at that registered office. The U.S. name on the ANAB certificate is National Quality Assurance, USA, at 289 Great Road, Suite 105, Acton, Massachusetts. NQA's published U.S. registration regulations use National Quality Assurance, USA, Inc. The issuer is the legal entity on the schedule for the mark you need.

Who should shortlist NQA

This is a general management-system registrar. Plants that need ISO 9001, with ISO 14001 or ISO 45001 beside it, and teams that need ISO/IEC 27001, are the usual fit. The published UKAS schedule lists those four standards and ISO/IEC 42001:2023. The ANAB scope NQA posts for National Quality Assurance, USA, dated 26 March 2026, lists ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018, and ISO/IEC 27001:2022. That ANAB scope does not list ISO/IEC 42001.

For an AI management certificate, use the schedule that names the mark your customer asked for. The UKAS schedule lists ISO/IEC 42001 and the roles developer, producer, provider, and user. NQA's U.S. regulations say National Quality Assurance, USA issues ANAB certificates under its own scope, and issues UKAS certificates on behalf of NQA Certification Limited. NQA UK retains responsibility for granting, issuing, and withdrawing those UKAS certificates. Ask the proposal which entity grants the certificate and which mark will be printed on it.

The ANAB occupational health and safety table on that scope is shorter than the quality table. Fabricated metal products, machinery and equipment, and aerospace appear. Many quality sectors are absent. UKAS lists ISO 45001:2018 more broadly, with electricity supply limited to supply excluding nuclear generation. Confirm the IAF code on the schedule that will sit on the certificate.

UKAS key locations include Warwick House, named as lead office for the EN 9104-001 aerospace sector scheme, a Shanghai office, the Acton office, and an office in Palencia, Spain. The ANAB scope lists additional offices in Whitby, Ontario, Shanghai, and Warwick House, and marks the Shanghai office and Warwick House as critical locations. NQA's U.S. contact page also lists Fullerton, California. That address is absent from the ANAB additional-office list and the UKAS key-location list reviewed here. Ask which office will work the audit.

The ANAB scope also lists aviation, space, and defense quality management systems, including AS9100:2016, AS9110:2016, and AS9120:2016, and medical devices to ISO 13485:2016. The UKAS summary lists ISO 13485:2016. Confirm any IAQG OASIS listing, and any medical-device technical-area approval, on the live scheme record for the entity that will sign. If the customer asked for aerospace quality, read ISO 9001 vs AS9100. If the customer asked for medical-device quality, use ISO 9001 vs ISO 13485.

ISO/IEC 27701 appears on both scopes. ISO/IEC 20000-1 and ISO 22301 appear on the ANAB scope and in the UKAS summary (ISO/IEC 20000-1:2018 and ISO 22301:2019). The UKAS summary also names food safety, energy, and asset management. This directory does not tag those schemes. Ask for the line you need.

What to verify in a quote

  • The legal entity: NQA Certification Limited on a UKAS certificate, or National Quality Assurance, USA on an ANAB certificate.
  • The mark and the edition your customer named. Both published scopes include ISO/IEC 27001:2022.
  • For ISO/IEC 42001, that the mark you need is on the live schedule.
  • For ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, the IAF code for each site.
  • For aerospace or medical devices, the scheme approval above the management-system scope.
  • Which office will audit, including whether Fullerton is an accredited location.
  • Transfer terms if you already hold a certificate. That move is a certificate transfer. Name the accepting legal entity.
