Schellman

U.S. compliance and cybersecurity assessor; first ANAB-accredited ISO/IEC 42001 certification body.

Schellman is a U.S. assessment firm known for SOC, payment, and ISO/IEC 27001 work. In September 2024 it publicly announced ANAB accreditation for ISO/IEC 42001 — a useful landmark for buyers who want an AIMS certificate under a North American accreditation body.

Who should shortlist Schellman

This is a specialist entry, not a general manufacturing QMS registrar. Professional-services, software, and IT-led organizations that already think in terms of SOC 2 and ISO/IEC 27001 will usually get more from Schellman than a plant that primarily needs ISO 9001 and ISO 45001.

If your path is quality → security → AI, Schellman often belongs on the 27001 / 42001 shortlist while a broader TIC registrar remains on the 9001 / 14001 / 45001 shortlist. Some organizations keep two CBs for that reason. Others prefer a single global CB that can cover the full stack — if the accredited scope exists.

Buying notes

  • Ask how Schellman maps existing 27001 controls into a 42001 audit.
  • Confirm ANAB AIMS scope is still active and covers your locations.
  • Do not expect this directory entry to imply ISO 9001 factory auditing.

Verify on ANAB’s directory and IAF CertSearch.
